What Is Anxiety, Really?

Anxiety is your nervous system's alarm response — it evolved to protect you from danger. The problem is that in modern life, our brains can't always tell the difference between a bear in the woods and a difficult email from your boss.

When anxiety becomes chronic, it can feel like you're always bracing for something bad to happen, even when you're safe.

Signs You Might Be Struggling

  • Racing or repetitive thoughts you can't turn off
  • Physical tension — tight chest, shallow breathing, stomach upset
  • Avoiding situations or people because of worry
  • Difficulty sleeping or concentrating

What Helps?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is one of the most evidence-based approaches for anxiety. Mindfulness practices can also be transformative — not as a quick fix, but as a way of building a different relationship with your thoughts.

You don't have to figure this out alone.
